Julian Gollop, CEO
Julian began his design career in the dark ages, before home computers existed. His first computer game design started as a pencil and paper game, later turned into a computer game by a school friend. Despite attending the London School of Economics he spent too much time making computer games on his Sinclair Spectrum 48K and failed to finish his degree. Fortunately, out of that period came the games ‘Chaos’ and ‘Rebelstar,’ which influenced many of his later games.
After setting up a company with his brother Nick, he achieved great success with the X-Com series of games. Due to a chronically bad business deal with Virgin Interactive, the company was wound up and Julian ended up moving to Bulgaria with his Bulgarian wife. There he worked for Ubisoft for five years before being inspired by a Kickstarter campaign for Double Fine Adventure. Suddenly, it became possible to establish indie dev studios with crowdfunding.
After a chance meeting with David Kaye, a fan of that original ‘Chaos’ game, the pair decided to set up Snapshot Games with their first project ‘Chaos Reborn.’
